Book Review

The Dead Daughter (The Cursed Kingdom Bk. 1)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/ 5

"Become one with your sister. Remind them of what they stole from you. Remind them why you were locked away and tell them, 'No more' "

Unlike the first book, this one is told in the perspective Kumud who is the sister of Aymeri. I must admit I like The Dead Daughter more than The Broken Daughter which is the first book in the series. I had a chance to know the characters more and the world-building and backstory somehow improved. The writing style was quite addictive however, the plot was not really easy to follow because a lot of things were happening that I need to sort out and process.

"She wanted to bounce back and live life to the fullest. She wanted to forgive and forget, to love and to be loved."

Nevertheless, I love the growth and development of each characters especially Kumud, she definitely became one of my favorites among the characters in the sequel. I love her determination in helping her sister and chose to be strong despite all the struggles she's been through when she was locked away. Moreover, I love the sisterly bond between Aymeri and Kumud which is a really strong point in the book for me.

The questions that left me hanging in book one were answered but new mysteries unfold and a bunch of new questions kept running in my mind after I read The Dead Daughter. It was a really captivating read and I can't help but to be intrigued of what will happen next!

Spread love and goodness as always,
                                                          em💕
